I stepped back to take a look at some of things I’ve gotten done this past year, and kicked myself yet again that I haven’t been keeping up with regular projects nearly as much as previous years…. Blame it on being too busy (or more likely just plain lazy), but one of my new years resolutions for 2018 is to try to be a little more active with projects and patpeters.org!
I don’t believe I’ve made it official on this site yet, but in case any of you reading this don’t know yet, my wife and I are expecting our first child!!
So, as is the usual for people expecting, we’re buzzing around like crazy trying to make sure we have everything we need for when the baby arrives! This includes getting a new dresser, which brings me to our next project.
My wife found a used dresser from one of her work friends, but she didn’t like the coloring of the wood on the dresser, so we decided we wanted to spruce it up a bit and repaint it! I think my wife is starting to get the refurbishing bug, because she’s mentioned wanting to this sort of project with a few other furniture items around the house. I have a feeling that this isn’t going to be the last furniture rehash on this site!
Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures before we started sanding, but here are some pictures:
I’ll update this post with a picture of the dresser painted once we finish it tonight! After painting the dresser, we have to put some finishing wax on it to get the sheen we want, and then put new hardware on the drawers and then it’s good to go!
I’m hoping I should get some time on the bowling alley coffee table this weekend. I ordered some new hairpin table legs that I’m hoping will come in the mail before this weekend, since everything with that project is kind of on hold until I get those legs! In the meantime, Happy New Year!
