Well, after taking a few months off of working on projects to get married, move into a new apartment and unpack, it’s time to get back into the swing of things! The first project I want to get started on is a new workbench to go into my garage for working on other projects!
I looked around online for a few ideas, and came across this instructable by user ctx1985. My featured image on this post is a picture of his finished maker bench. You can find this instructable here.
I have a little bit of spare peg board from the teardrop trailer, and I have a giant pallet that came with the aluminum sheeting (also from the trailer). With that, plus a little bit of scrap wood that survived the move, this project should be either entirely, or almost entirely free!
To start off, I got out the massive pallet that was taking up half of my garage, and broke it down into some rather nice looking (if a little beat up) boards to use as my workbench! I’ll eventually cut the 3 posts that made the base of the pallet into legs for my work bench, and use some spare 1″X2″ wood scraps for looks. I’ll keep you posted as I make more progress on this. Here is the pallet before and after I happened.
